Our Services

autism london is a funded registered charity, originally formed in 1984 by parents concerned about the lack of provision for people with autism and Asperger syndrome. Autism London was formerly known as North East London Autistic Society (NELAS) but changed its name in 1995 to meet the increased demand of services to cover Greater London.

With our Head Office based in Islington and our residential home based in Leyton, we provide impartial support, advice and information to individuals, their families and carers, and professionals affected by autism and Asperger syndrome living in Greater London.

Since October 2003 we have joined forces with a leading learning disabilities service provider mcch Society Ltd, based in Maidstone. While we continue to be supported through external funding, our partnership will enable autism london and mcch to develop our services and share our expertise to secure long-term service provision to adults, families and organisations living and working with autistic spectrum disorders.

Our four main support areas are:
  • London Helpline
For many, the first point of contact with the organisation, open from 11am to 2pm, Monday to Friday
  • Support Services
Providing outreach, advocacy support and representation. We also run Asperger's groups for adults and hold regular Parent/Carer groups for families and organisations affected by autistic spectrum disorders
  • Social Events
We have organised several subsidised events for supporters and service users of autism london, including regular summer day trips and New Years Eve parties.
  • Residential Home
A residential home for adults affected by autism, providing a 'home for life' in a safe and supportive environment
We have lived and worked with autistic spectrum disorders and now we are helping others do the same. But we can only support them if you support us - Click Here to find out how to help.
