Support Services
Our Support Services team helps thousands of people every year. We carry out home and outreach visits, and provide advocacy support representing people affected by autism at social services and education reviews and other meetings
 
Advocacy and Outreach
autism london is currently introducing a charge for this service. Details of rates and referral procedures will be available on this site shortly.

Support Meetings
Many people benefit from attending our regular support groups in various London venues. Speakers are arranged for each meeting to talk on topics related to autism and Asperger syndrome. We are always open to ideas for what topics and speakers you would like to see


Parents and Carers Support Meetings

These meetings are designed for family members and professional carers to come and meet with autism london staff in order to discuss topics or issues of their own choosing or those arranged by autism london.

ALAG (autism london Asperger’s Group – mixed adults)

 

ALAG MEETINGS SCHEDULE

autism london Aspergers Group (ALAG) meetings will take place on :-

  • Tuesday 2nd September 2008

    Open discussion. We will also be joined by Rea Danielle will be coming to talk about the social skills group she runs called ‘Sweet Talk’

  • Tuesday 7th October 2008

    Disability and Employment. Speaker: Alisoun Probert from Job Centre Plus.

  • Tuesday 4th November 2008
    Anger Management and Passive Aggression. Speaker: Glenor Roberts.
  • Tuesday 2nd December 2008

    How to manage Social and Family Relationships. Speaker: Sarah Hendricks.

This is a support group for adults with Asperger syndrome living in the London area. It is a chance to meet others, to talk about common issues, and to support and help each other.

The group currently meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the evening from 6.30pm to 8.30 pm (this may sometimes vary due to bank holidays). Why not come along and give it a try?

Please try to arrive between 6.30 and 7pm. (Polite request: please do not attend before this time).

Anyone wishing to attend must book their place in advance by telephoning the autism london HelpLine on 0845 603 7954

Entry to the meeting is £1.00 for autism london Members and £3.00 for non-members payable on the evening.

There will be light refreshments/ snacks available.

ALWAG (autism london Women’s Group)

This is a support group for women with Asperger syndrome living in the London area, which has monthly meetings facilitated by one of the autism london Support Services Officers. The meetings are a chance to meet other women facing similar difficulties, to talk about common issues, and to support, and gain support from each other.

Please Note: No current women's group meetings set at present.
